The first piece is a review site for independent restaurants in Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura counties, built on honest reviews from people who actually eat there. Each listing shows the restaurant's details, its latest health inspection score and its TAPPP+ rating.

Browse Food Tribe's listings of independent restaurants by county and by 17 cuisine categories, from Breakfast & Cafes to Vegan & Vegetarian. The directory covers neighborhood spots across LA County and the rest of Southern California. Reviews are just getting started, so many listings are waiting for their first Tastemaker review.
What is a TAPPP+ review?
A TAPPP+ review rates a restaurant on more than taste. Reviewers look at Taste, Appearance and Price, then People and Planet, and the plus covers how the meal made you feel afterward, including energy, digestion and mental clarity. It gives you a fuller picture than a single star rating.
What does a restaurant's health inspection score mean?
In Los Angeles County, a score of 90 to 100 earns an A, 80 to 89 a B, and 70 to 79 a C; below 70, restaurants post the number instead of a letter. Food Tribe shows each restaurant's latest LA County inspection score and date on its listing.
Where does Food Tribe's restaurant information come from?
Restaurant details come from Overture Maps, an open map dataset, and health inspection scores come from LA County Public Health. Owners can claim their listing to add their own menu, hours and story. Reviews come only from Tastemakers who have eaten there.
